REPORTS: Kicker Ethan Moczulski returning to Illinois

He’s coming back.

You can always come home, right?

Multiple news outlets, including 247 and On3, reported Wednesday that kicker Ethan Moczulski will return to Illinois after spending one season at Washington.

Moczulski, who will have one year of eligibility remaining, played for the Illini in 2024, mostly doing kickoffs. He memorably made a school-record 59-yard field goal in a win over Central Michigan.

He left the program and transferred to Seattle after that season as David Olano took over full-time duties for Illinois.

But with Olano headed to Texas A&M, it opens up a spot Moczulski to be the guy in Champaign in 2026.

Moczulski didn’t attempt any kicks for the Huskies last season. Ironically, he started his career at Texas A&M before coming to Illinois.
