Get ready, sports fans: It's almost time to snag your tickets to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

The 2028 L.A. Games, also known as LA28, will take place in L.A. from July 14, 2028, until July 30, 2028. Then, the 2028 Paralympic Games will begin in Southern California in mid-August, running through the end of the month.

The Memorial Coliseum — set to host half of the dual-venue opening ceremony — will make history as the first stadium ever to stage three Olympic opening ceremonies and athletics competitions, having previously done so in 1932 and 1984.

Now, nearly nine years after being announced as host of the 2028 Summer Olympics, ticket registration has officially opened.

Here's everything to know about how to get tickets to the 2028 L.A. Olympics.

The 2028 L.A. Olympics will kick off with a dual-venue opening ceremony at the Coliseum and SoFi Stadium, with events spread out across Southern California.

"Los Angeles is the epicenter of sports, culture and entertainment, and every venue selected for the 2028 Games will provide athletes and fans the best possible experience," LA28 CEO Reynold Hoover said in an April 2025 statement.

He continued, "The 2028 Olympic venue plan invites communities from across the region to celebrate the Games coming to their backyard with the most exciting sports staged at some of the world’s top-tier existing stadiums and arenas, famous beaches and purpose-built temporary structures."

LA28 will stage events across the entire city and county, extending north to Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area for 3x3 basketball and modern pentathlon. Meanwhile, Venice Beach will be home to the triathlon competition, as well as the official starting locations for the marathon and cycling road courses, per a press release.

Other sports, like rhythmic gymnastics, will take place downtown at USC Sports Center. Iconic L.A. landmarks will also be utilized for the Games, from Peacock Theater to Dodger Stadium. The complete list of Olympic sports and their venues can be found on the official LA28 website.

Those interested in attending the L.A. Olympics can head to the LA28 website and register their interest in being put into a draw to buy tickets. Registration does not require any payment or obligation to purchase. The registration period for tickets to LA28 opened on Jan. 14 and will remain so until March 18, 2026.

From there, those selected from the draw via lottery will receive a time slot to purchase tickets. These notifications will come through via email anytime from March 31, 2026, until April 7, 2026.

The time slots will fall within the first ticket drop period, which is from April 9, 2026, until April 19, 2026.

The April 2026 ticket window won't be the only opportunity to get tickets. After you have registered once, your name is automatically entered into the draw for subsequent ticket drops until you reach the ticket maximum. However, "fans are encouraged to register today for the best choice of tickets and events, as capacity may be filled or limited in subsequent drops," per the website.

Ticket prices for the 2028 L.A. Olympics will vary, though they start at $28. There will be premium seats, private suites, clubs and lounges — as well as packages that include premium food and beverage offerings — available for purchase. More information can be found on LA28's ticketing and hospitality site.

Those who are chosen for the ticket drop generally only get up to 12 tickets, though the maximum number of tickets can vary for certain sports and is subject to change.

In addition to the general lottery sale, there will be a locals presale to "celebrate the communities closest to the action," as noted on the ticketing site. Those in the greater L.A. and Oklahoma County regions are eligible for the early purchase window. To qualify, your billing postal code must be in one of the following qualifying counties:

  • California counties: Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura
  • Oklahoma counties: Oklahoma, Canadian, Cleveland

Like the general window, the local presale registration closes on March 18, 2026, though the presale will take place from April 2, 2026, until April 6, 2026.

If you're not chosen for any of the ticket drops, don't fret: There are still other opportunities to attend LA28. Much like with other sporting events in the U.S., fans will be able to buy and sell tickets on resale websites. LA28 has already promoted AXS and EVENTIM as the "preferred secondary ticketing provider."

For those who want to be involved in the Games but don't want to purchase tickets, registration to express interest to be a volunteer has already opened. While registering doesn't secure a spot, the volunteer team will notify those interested when opportunities become available.
