Current Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James' 4-year tenure as a member of the Miami Heat from 2010-2014 is regarded by many as the athletic peak of the 21-time All-Star's career.

James' otherworldly mix of speed, strength, agility and gravity-defying vertical jump made him impossible to guard, much less to stay in front of on the fast break alongside 3-time NBA champion, Dwyane Wade.

During a Wednesday morning episode of the Club 520 Podcast, former All-Star point guard with the Atlanta Hawks and 12-year NBA veteran Jeff Teague publicly questioned the validity of James' unreal athleticism by claiming that the future Hall of Fame inductee was once busted by the NBA for steroid use.

After Teague's outrageous comments set the basketball world ablaze, he quickly retracted his viral statement on social media.

"He was on steroids, bro," Teague stated during a Wednesday afternoon episode of the Club 520 Podcast.

"He had to sit out (because) he was on steroids, for real."

Teague then expanded upon his claim, noting a change in appearance after James returned from an alleged leave of absence.

"They started testing for HGH and everybody was like 'yo,' and he had to sit out. He said his back was hurting, and he sat out for like, three weeks and he came back skinny."

Following these claims, the former star guard later took to Instagram to let people know that his comments were not to be taken seriously.

"Y'all weird I was just joking about bron he was just that (dominant) chill."

While Teague's statement was certainly one to scoff at, James has likely been accused of steroid usage before due to his incredible 6-foot-9, 250-pound build.

James' four seasons spent with the Heat ultimately led to four consecutive NBA Finals appearances and the first two NBA championship victories of his illustrious career.
