TJ Finley opens up a new chapter in his transfer portal journey
The veteran quarterback, who most recently played at Georgia State, has signed with Incarnate Word as he prepares to return for a seventh season of college football in 2026, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
The move marks the sixth stop of Finley’s career since he began at LSU Tigers in 2020. He has also played for Auburn, Texas State and Western Kentucky.
Finley appeared in seven games for Georgia State during the 2025 season, throwing for 1,244 yards with six touchdowns and seven interceptions. A lingering shoulder injury limited his availability for much of the year.

His most productive season came in 2023 at Texas State, when he threw for 3,439 yards and 24 touchdowns while adding five scores on the ground.
The former three-star recruit from Ponchatoula, Louisiana, is the No. 99 quarterback to enter the portal this offseason, per On3. He landed at his new stop before the portal window closes Jan. 16. It's the final opportunity for football transfers under the NCAA’s revised calendar.
