Cardiff City are set to sign goalkeeper Harry Tyrer from Everton.
The 24-year-old will have his medical on Tuesday before joining on a permanent contract.
Cardiff are under a transfer embargo but are hopeful it will be lifted by the end of the week, once they have submitted their accounts.
Once the embargo is removed, the League One leaders will be able to officially confirm the signing of Tyrer.
Following Jak Alnwick's move to Huddersfield Town and with Ethan Horvath expected to leave this month, Cardiff are in the market for a goalkeeper.
Nathan Trott has excelled this season having joined on loan from Copenhagen, and Tyrer would provide competition alongside current second choice Matt Turner.
Tyrer spent last season on loan at League One rivals Blackpool, while he has also had non-league loans with Chesterfield and Chester.
Meanwhile, Cardiff winger Tanatswa Nyakuhwa is set to leave on loan, with League Two Newport County leading the chase to sign the 20-year-old.
