Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez was in the spotlight against Napoli after another high-profile clash passed without a goal.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, El Toro’s drought in high-stakes clashes has become notorious.

Despite starting the season with a whimper rather than a bang, Lautaro Martinez is currently Serie A’s leading goalscorer.

Indeed, the Argentine striker has netted ten goals in 19 league appearances, moving one clear of AC Milan’s Christian Pulisic.

Therefore, the former Racing Club striker has hit double digits once again.

After finding the net in five consecutive Serie A games, Lautaro has drawn a blank in the last two.

More importantly, he failed to score in Inter’s dramatic 2-2 home draw against Napoli on Sunday.

As such, he has now failed to get on the scoresheet in nine successive outings against the Partenopei.

Furthermore, it’s been over a year and a half since he last scored against either Juventus or Milan.

It’s also worth noting that he didn’t get on the board against Roma earlier this season.
