Former Cowboys Star Crushes Speculation Linking Arch Manning and Nick Saban to Cleveland

Arch Manning and Nick Saban to the Cleveland Browns is in the works, apparently.

The dog days of the college and NFL seasons have officially arrived at the conspiracy theory portion of the calendar.

With college football about a month away from starting, and the NFL regular season a week after, the theories and reports have been all over the place. Despite stepping away from coaching following the 2023 season, seven-time champion head coach at Alabama and LSU, Nick Saban, is now apparently interested in coaching in the NFL.

A move that would come after he had already called leaving LSU for the Miami Dolphins job in 2004 the "biggest mistake" of his career, but nonetheless, Colin Cowherd reported that the Cleveland Browns are interested in the 73-year-old.

The other conspiracy of the offseason is that, despite drafting two quarterbacks in 2025, the Cleveland Browns are all in on Arch Manning. Something Cowherd discussed on Wednesday, but was shot down by former All-Pro wide receiver Dez Bryant.

"This is the worst-kept secret in the south," Cowherd said. "Haslam, Jimmy owner of the Browns, huge SEC Tennessee booster, leans heavily on the Manning family. Very close to the Manning family...Arch Manning is a part of the Manning family, and this is where Nick Saban comes in. Saban is incredibly close to not only Jimmy Haslam, but Saban's close to the Manning Family as well.

"So Saban, if he could land I'm told a top quarterback like Harbaugh going to the Chargers for Herbert, he would take a phone call for the NFL," Cowherd added.

While the Browns may have interest in Manning, there is no indication that he would leave Texas after one season of starting. Both of his uncles played out their careers at Tennessee and Ole Miss respectively, and the Manning family is notorious for dodging teams they don't want to play for.

So, while in a perfect world for Browns fans, they'd get Saban and Manning, there's also a very realistic chance they land neither.
