Liverpool not planning new right-back signing despite Conor Bradley’s injury

Liverpool right-back Conor Bradley has been ruled out for the rest of the season following a knee injury he sustained in the goalless Premier League draw with Arsenal.

The Northern Irishman becomes the third Liverpool player to suffer a serious injury this season, following Alexander Isak and Giovanni Leoni injuries.

The setback has led to suggestions that the Reds will sign a replacement during the winter transfer window.

However, according to The Athletic, the defending Premier League champions do not intend to sign a new right back.

In Bradley’s absence, Jeremie Frimpong, Joe Gomez, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Curtis Jones can deputise in the position.

Bradley had been viewed as a potential long-term option to succeed Trent Alexander-Arnold but has struggled for consistency this season, in part due to recurring fitness issues.

His absence gives Frimpong the chance to become Liverpool’s first-choice right-back.

While Frimpong has played as a right winger, particularly with the absence of Mohamed Salah, he is unlikely to secure a starting berth playing in that position.

The Dutchman has had his own fitness concerns, but will now hope to stay fit for the rest of the season to become a mainstay in the starting XI.

With their title defence appearing increasingly unlikely, Arne Slot’s side will be aiming to secure a top-four finish and make progress in the Champions League and FA Cup.
