The Los Angeles Chargers’ loss to the New England Patriots reignited frustration around one of the NFL’s most talented yet inconsistent teams.
Despite having a franchise quarterback in Justin Herbert, the offense once again looked flat and out of rhythm.
The Chargers failed to find any real momentum, continuing a season defined by stalled drives and missed opportunities.
The lack of creativity under offensive coordinator Greg Roman drew plenty of criticism, and the team’s fans voiced their frustration online.
Among them was a familiar name from another sport who has supported Herbert for years but couldn’t hide his disappointment this time.
Michael Kim says Chargers’ offense was ‘really disappointing’
PGA Tour golfer Michael Kim, a long-time Chargers fan, summed up the feelings of many supporters with his post on social media.
“I’ve been a big fan and supporter of Justin Herbert, but this was really disappointing,” Kim wrote.
“Not smart enough to know if it’s Greg Roman’s fault or his (prob both), but to put this offensive performance is just sad as a Chargers fan.”
The comment came after another game where the Chargers’ offense struggled to execute.
Drives fizzled, play-calling looked predictable, and Herbert appeared uncomfortable for much of a difficult night against the Patriots.
Justin Herbert still searching for postseason success
Herbert remains one of the most talented players in the NFL, but his playoff resume tells a different story.
The Chargers star has now made three postseason appearances in his career and lost all of them. Each defeat has added another layer of pressure to an already heavy burden.
While Herbert’s individual numbers continue to impress, the team’s inability to translate that into meaningful playoff success has become a defining frustration.
Herbert’s arm strength, accuracy, and poise are undeniable, but fans are beginning to question how long his potential can outweigh results.
As Kim’s comments showed, faith in the Chargers’ process is starting to wear thin – and until Herbert delivers in January, the criticism isn’t going anywhere.
