Croatia international Andrej Kramarić regrets that a move from Hoffenheim to Bayern Munich never came to fruition.
"In hindsight, that is the only club where I would say maybe I should have done it," the 34-year-old told Kicker magazine on Monday, adding: "That is the only thing I might regret. Everything else did not particularly appeal to me."
Kramarić has played at Hoffenheim for 10 years and in that time received numerous offers from clubs at home and abroad, including from Bayern.
"But we will never know how that would have turned out," the forward said in retrospect. "That was during the time of Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller and all the others, so it was clear I would not have played as much as I do here."
He would now like to extend his contract at Hoffenheim, which expires in June.
"I simply want to continue playing football, preferably at Hoffenheim, I am still extremely motivated here," Kramarić said. "If it were in my power, I would sign immediately."
After retiring, the 2018 World Cup runner-up wants to work as a coach and "gladly in Hoffenheim," Kramaric revealed.
He said he had learnt the most from former Hoffenheim and now Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann.
"He is something special and impressive," Kramarić added.
