Guernsey FC defender Jamie Dodd has said playing his 400th game for the club was "special".
The 36-year-old started the 3-0 win over Eastbourne United to reach the milestone for the island side.
Dodd is one of the last remaining players to still be playing for the club that featured in the island side's debut season in 2011.
"It's a very long time," Dodd told BBC Radio Guernsey.
"Milestones don't mean a lot to me in terms of individual, but when you sort of reflect on it, it is quite a landmark and a special milestone to get to.
"I think I was 25 when I got diagnosed with arthritis in my knee and told to sort of give up, and I'd already played a few games by then, but to still be going at almost 37 is quite special."
While Dodd's appearances have become less frequent in recent seasons he is still happy to be involved.
He has played 11 times for the Green Lions in the current campaign, which is more than he expected.
"We've got quite a few injuries at the minute in defence and around the team," he explained.
"I had an aim of probably playing about five games this year and I'm really well past that.
"But when we do get people back I know that I'm not going to be first name or in the team, so I'm just there to fill in when needed."
Green Lionesses end losing run with 0-0 draw
Meanwhile Guernsey FC Women ended their three-game losing streak in Southern Region Women's Football League Division One South.
The island side drew 0-0 away at Havant and Waterlooville in their first game of 2026.
It was just the second time in the 30 games in the side's history that they have failed to score and the first time in their maiden league campaign.
The point leaves the Green Lionesses sixth in their 11-team league on 14 points.
They are two points off second-placed AFC Stoneham and three ahead of 10th-placed AFC Varsity in a congested table.
