Charlton Athletic 1-5 Chelsea, Player Ratings: Get ready for the Hato-ssance

Community player ratings as Chelsea advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup

1. JORREL HATO (7.7)

It’s been a rough first few months in Chelsea blue for young Jorrel Hato, but this could be the turning point for him.

It’s safe to say that this game was his best for us yet, and not just because he scored the goal that broke the dam. And what a goal it was: a most perfect half volley!

So that’s quite a memorable first goal for the Liam Rosenior era, with the head coach heaping praise on the young left back (who played more like a second/shadow striker).

“He’s 19. I saw him play at Fulham. I was so impressed with him then. He’s taken that form on to another level today. Not just in terms of his goal. I felt his defensive attributes were top. His way that he settled the game down in possession, the way he defended one-v-one and still had the energy and speed to get forward to help us into attack.”

2. MOISÉS CAICEDO (7.4)

Caicedo’s had a rare drop in form over the past few games, but he was back closer to his usual levels in this one, so hopefully he’s over that slump and ready to dominate in the big games coming up.

3. ESTÊVÃO (7.3, sub)

We all want to see Steve-o play more often.
