LET names DP World Tour Middle East director its new CEO

The Englishman currently leads a team of 30 in the United Arab Emirates.

The Ladies European Tour has appointed Tom Phillips as its next Chief Executive Officer, the tour announced. Phillips, the current Director of Middle East for the DP World Tour, starts the new role April 6, 2026.

The Englishman currently leads a team of 30 in the United Arab Emirates. The DP World Tour, like the LET, has a strong presence in the Middle East and across the globe.

“The Ladies European Tour has a proud history and an exciting future,” Phillips said in a release. “I’m honored to take on this role and look forward to working with the board, the team and the players to continue strengthening the tour, expanding its global reach and creating even more opportunities for women in the game.”

Thorbjorn Olesen of Denmark poses with the Thailand Classic Trophy after winning the Thailand Classic alongside Tom Phillips, Head of Middle East for the DP World Tour at Amata Spring Country Club on February 19, 2023 in Thailand.

Last June, former CEO Alexandra Armas announced that she was stepping down in the fall. Armas had two stints leading the LET, first taking over in 2005 during a time of distress for the tour, building the schedule back up to nearly 30 events before financial troubles crippled the world. After initially leaving in 2012, she came back in 2020 and once again increased the number of tournaments while doubling purses.

Prior to his time at the DP World Tour, Philips spent 15 years working with Sir Nick Faldo, serving as CEO of the Faldo Series, which at one point included 40 tournaments across 30 countries. Additional past experience includes Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Golf Association and senior business development roles across Asia, including Mission Hills in China.

“Tom is a highly respected leader with deep international experience and a strong track record of delivering sustainable growth,” said Marta Figueras Dotti, Chair of the LET Ltd. Board in a release. “His commercial expertise, collaborative approach and passion for the game make him the right person to lead the LET as we continue to build momentum for our players and our tour.”

The tour's released notes that Phillips, having lived and worked in the Middle East and Asia since 2005, will return to the U.K. to begin his new position.

“Tom brings a global perspective and a clear understanding of how to grow professional sport in a way that benefits athletes, partners and fans, and his appointment reflects the Tour’s long-term vision and the opportunity to further strengthen the women’s golf ecosystem worldwide,” said Liz Moore, Chair of the LPGA-LET Joint Venture Board of Directors, in a release. “He has consistently demonstrated the ability to build strong teams and partnerships, and we’re excited about the leadership he’ll bring to the LET.”

The LET's 2026 schedule kicks off Feb. 11-14 with the $5 million PIF Saudi Ladies International at Riyadh Golf Club.
