Louisville should win but we’re not as confident about Notre Dame.
Two games on tap Friday as Louisville and Notre Dame change West Coast dance partners after both won on Tuesday with Louisville hammering Cal and the Irish winning a Tony Bennett special against Stanford, 47-40.
It’s interesting that there is a three-day break between games, but it is still between semesters.
We don’t imagine that Louisville is going to have much trouble with Stanford, particularly if Mikel Brown plays (he’s been out with a back issue). However, Ebuka Okorie had a rough outing against the Irish with just 7 points after 62 in his two previous games.
Notre Dame vs. Cal is more interesting.
Jalen Haralson is playing at an All-ACC Rookie level and could sneak into All-ACC contention if he continues to play at a high level. He’s helped Notre Dame deal with the loss of star guard Markus Burton.
Of the two Friday games, this one is likely to be much more competitive.
Some quick props to Miami for upsetting mighty Ohio State in the CFB Playoffs. For their trouble, they’ll get Ole Miss, which upset Georgia on a bizarre final play by the Bulldogs.
After all the drama with Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss suddenly looks like a team of destiny. If Miami gets past them though, they’ll play the winner of Indiana vs. Oregon and if they can knock off Ohio State and get by Ole Miss, who’s to say they can’t win one more?
