Inter Milan January transfer plans depend heavily on outgoing moves as the club continue to monitor Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic, with defensive renewal high on the agenda.
Refreshing the back line remains a priority for Inter, especially with several contracts nearing their expiry. Decisions are still pending on Stefan de Vrij, Francesco Acerbi, and Matteo Darmian.
According to Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, De Vrij could be the only one retained beyond the current season, but no final calls have been made.
One departure appears more certain.
“Palacios will definitely leave,” the newspaper reports, noting that the Argentine defender has “never been considered, not even by Cristian Chivu.” His exit would help free space and resources for incoming moves.

That context could open the door to activity already in the winter window.
Corriere dello Sport explains that Inter have been tracking Tarik Muharemovic for weeks.
The 2003-born centre-back has impressed in the first half of the season with Sassuolo.
Indeed, earning praise for both his physical profile and technical reliability.
“The Bosnian defender ticks every box,” the report adds.
“Beyond his age, his physical traits and left-footed profile match perfectly the identity drawn up at Viale della Liberazione.” Muharemovic’s ability to play as a left-sided centre-back makes him especially appealing to Inter’s technical staff.
The main obstacle remains financial. Sassuolo must hand Juventus 50% of any future profit due to a clause agreed when the player moved to Emilia. That condition could influence the valuation and timing of any deal.
For now, Inter wait. January movement will depend on exits first, but Muharemovic remains a name firmly on the Nerazzurri’s radar.
