Threadbare Blues travel to Forest looking to do the double on Dyche

Everton are on the road again as the festive fixtures hit their peak, this time away at Nottingham Forest. David Moyes’ side just beat Sean Dyche’s charges on the latter’s first game against the Toffees since being sacked by the Blues and then appointed manager by Forest, with Everton easily prevailing 3-0 at the friendly confines of Hill Dickinson Stadium.
However, injuries and AFCON mean the Blues will look quite different today as they travel to the City Ground to take on a mostly-similar Forest side.
The squad situation remains about the same for the Blues with Jarrad Branthwaite, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Idrissa Gueye, Iliman Ndiaye and Seamus Coleman all out. Rumours continue to circulate online that Jack Grealish is still doubtful, with Michael Keane also looking unlikely and Carlos Alcaraz is out.

The two sides just met in early December with a KDH-driven own goal, Thierno Barry’s first goal and then KDH finally scoring again in a 3-0 win. Everton’s last trip to the City Ground was also successful back in April this year with Abdoulaye Doucoure scoring the only goal on a lightning counter attack to pretty much ensure the Toffees would not be embroiled in a relegation battle while simultaneously throwing a wrench in the works for Forest’s Champions League hopes.
