According to a report from L’Équipe‘s Loïc Tanzi, Eintracht Frankfurt striker Elye Wahi has agreed to a loan move to OGC Nice until the end of the season. The 22-year-old former Lens and Marseille striker was reportedly convinced following a conversation with new Nice boss Claude Puel on Monday.
Wahi is set to arrive on the Côte d’Azur on Wednesday, where he is set to sign on a loan deal with no option to extend currently reported. The Frenchman has been struggling for game-time this season in Germany, after departing Marseille last winter.
Wahi broke through with Montpellier before moving to Frank Haise’s Lens side in the 23-24 season, notably netting in the Champions League against Arsenal. Since then, the former France international has failed to kick-on in Ligue 1, with a short stint under Roberto De Zerbi at Marseille before a move to Frankfurt where he had to deputise for Hugo Ekitike but couldn’t become the man to replace him.GFFN | George Boxall
