The Pick: Under 41.5 Points

Rundown: A battle for the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft is on the line, as the Las Vegas Raiders (2-13) welcome the New York Giants (2-13) to Allegiant Stadium in Week 17.

The NFL has spanned more than a century, producing countless moments of significance that stretch across generations – and today might deliver the most intriguing game between two-win teams in the NFL’s rich history. The loser of today’s matchup will be in the driver's seat for the No. 1 overall draft choice in next year’s NFL Draft with just one week to go in the regular season. That selection carries franchise-altering value, whether it’s used to draft a cornerstone player or leveraged in a trade with a quarterback-needy team willing to offer a massive return.

While the draft implications loom large, the game itself still has to be played. Las Vegas enters today’s matchup with the NFL’s lowest-scoring offense, averaging just 14.5 points per game. Those struggles have contributed to seven of the Raiders’ 15 games (46.7%) finishing below the projected point total. Rookie running back Ashton Jeanty delivered the best performance of his young career last week against Houston, totaling 188 yards on 26 touches with two touchdowns in a narrow 23-21 loss. The Boise State product will look to build on that outing and provide a glimpse of optimism for Raider Nation heading into 2026.

For New York, signs of stability have emerged at quarterback. Rookie first-round pick Jaxson Dart has flashed upside, accounting for 20 total touchdowns with 13 through the air and seven on the ground. He’ll aim to snap a nine-game losing streak that began with a stunning collapse against Denver, when the Giants surrendered 33 fourth-quarter points in a 33-32 loss. In a season that saw head coach Brian Daboll dismissed, Dart has positioned himself as a potential building block entering the offseason.

With draft positioning at stake and limited offensive consistency on both sides, expect conservative game plans that prioritize ball control and field position, setting the stage for a low-scoring contest dominated by punts.
