We break down the fantasy football outlook of Rhamondre Stevenson ahead of the Patriots’ Week 17 matchup vs. the Jets.
Week 17 of the 2025 NFL season will continue on this afternoon with an AFC East showdown featuring the New England Patriots visiting the New York Jets at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
The Patriots were able to erase an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to down the Ravens 28-24 last Sunday and now need just a win and a Bills loss to clinch the AFC East title. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson played a vital role in that win and we can expect him to get plenty of run in today’s showdown.
Below, we’ll go over Stevenson’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 17.
Fantasy Football analysis: Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson
Stevenson registered eight carries for 51-yards and a touchdown on the ground in last week’s victory over the Ravens, also adding an additional two receptions for 27 receiving yards to his stat ledger. His 21-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter was critical as he zig zagged his way through the Baltimore defense to put New England ahead right before the two-minute warning.
The fifth-year veteran was on the field for a season-high 62 snaps in that game and that was of course due to starter TreVeyon Henderson exiting the game with a concussion. Henderson has progressed enough throughout the week in concussion protocol to carry a questionable designation into today’s showdown, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them still defer to Stevenson against the lowly Jets. Last week marked the fourth time this season where he’s finished as a top-15 fantasy running back for the week and he has an opportunity to do so again against a Jets defense that is yielding 22.6 fantasy points per game to opposing backs, the second-highest total in the league.
Start or sit in Week 17?
Start. Stevenson should have himself another solid game even if Henderson ends up playing and I’d trust him with a start in the championship round.
