The Philadelphia Phillies "would love" to land Boston Red Sox All-Star outfielder Jarren Duran at the MLB trade deadline.

The Philadelphia Phillies are expected to be buyers at this year's MLB trade deadline. With interest in adding a reliever and an outfielder, the Phillies could get busy by the end of the month.
Outfield is significantly more challenging to add, with a lack of star power available for trade. But, there is one player who Jim Bowden of The Athletic believes the Phillies would love to land at the trade deadline.
"The Padres and Phillies would love to land (Jarren) Duran." Bowden wrote.
The Boston Red Sox outfielder has been the subject of trade inquiries for some time now. It's largely in part due to Roman Anthony's promotion to the Majors, and the other outfielders on the roster having strong seasons.
Duran, he potential odd-man-out, could be an incredible pickup for the Phillies. They've been linked to outfielders before, and Duran makes a lot of sense.
He could slide into left field while Brandon Marsh stays in center, or the two could flip. Regardless of the defensive alignment that works best, the two outfielders can make it work.
Boston is open to moving Duran, the 2024 All-Star who led the league in doubles and triples last season. The Phillies would likely have to move a starter or first baseman to land Duran.
Mick Abel could be a reasonable trade chip in such a deal, though the Red Sox might demand Andrew Painter, the top Phillies prospect. If that's the asking price, the Phillies would be out, as they aren't intending to trade Painter.
If Painter isn't in the deal, a Duran trade is possible. The Phillies are willing to invest in this team, which could include trading away some of their top prospects, not Andrew Painter.
Bowden's report that the Phillies would love to add Duran is interesting. The Phillies plan to go after outfielders, and Duran might be the best one on the market.
Adding Duran, who is hitting .257 with eight home runs, ten triples, and 50 RBIs, would cost a lot. But, he'd be a massive upgrade over Mx Kepler, and could help bolster the Phillies to a top postseason spot.
