Caitlin Clark reveals most misunderstood thing about herself

Caitlin Clark Names the Most Misunderstood Thing About Her Without Hesitation originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is dealing with her third injury of the year. It sidelined her from the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday. She was named a captain after receiving the most votes of any player in the league, followed by Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier.

Although she couldn't contribute to her team during All-Star Weekend, she served as an ambassador and assisted coach Sandy Brondello.

On Monday, Clark joined WNBA legend Sue Bird and American soccer great Megan Rapinoe on their podcast, "A Touch More," where they discussed several trending sports topics and focused on Clark’s perspectives surrounding the WNBA.

Co-host Rapinoe asked Clark what she feels is the most misunderstood thing about her, both on and off the court, to which Clark gave a personality-oriented answer.

“I feel like a lot of people don't realize like how goofy I actually am. Like, and I think like a lot of my teammates would say that, like even like Steph White was saying this the other day, like people don't realize like I'm just like comedic relief in the locker room," Clark said. "Like once I step on the court, like I'm super fiery and like ... I want to kill. But every moment other than that, it's like it's not serious. Like I just have fun. I have a good time.”

On the court, Clark is known for her fiery competitive spirit, the only side of her that most fans get to see, as they are only tuned in for her games.

"Like so I feel like that's hard for people to understand. And you know, it should be because they only watch us for a couple hours a week," said Clark. "Like you only see what we're doing on TV, like doing our job and you'll see what we do with the rest of our hours of our lives."
