High School Roundup: Scores and recaps from Tuesday's games across RI

Here's who won Tuesday's games before most school sports take a break for the holidays.

🏀BOYS BASKETBALL - Division I

Mt. Pleasant 55, East Providence 51

Bengi Mordan scored 18 points, and teammates Rashaun Gray and Jordan Robertson scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, as the Kilties downed the Townies. MP moves to 1-0. Jacob Stover had 12 points for EP in the loss.

🏀BOYS BASKETBALL - Division II

Mt. Hope 74, Burrillville 63

Jacob Tamke led the way with a game-high 20 points for the Huskies, who extended a one-point halftime lead to an 11-point win. Benjamin Peters had 18, John Adams and Maleaq Roderick each had 13, and Jack Thompson added 10 in the victoy. For the Broncos, Jack Belluzzi scored 18, Alton Kelly had 15, Dylan Kafalas added 12 and Evan Goulet chipped in with 11 in the loss.

🏀BOYS BASKETBALL - Division III

Davies 57, North Smithfield 54

In a tight back-and-forth affair, EJ Baptiste made a key free throw to secure the victory for the Patriots. Davies was led by Aidan Kearns' 24 points and 8 rebounds. Zion Rayside was a monster inside, scoring 10 points and pulling down 12 rebounds while Andrew Stark added 12 points and 14 boards in the loss for the Northmen.

Toll Gate 52, Achievement First 49

Damola Oremoso scored a game-high 20 points and pulled down 11 rebounds leading the Titans to victory over Achievement First. Also figuring heavily in the win was Aiden Tourangeau who had 16 points, 7 rebounds & 5 assists.

Malachi Stone did his best to keep AF in the game with a team-high 18 points in the loss.

🏀BOYS BASKETBALL - Nonleague

Falmouth (MA) 65, Tiverton 46

Sam Stoemer scored a game-high 25 points and teammate Max Roterkin scored 17 as Falmouth rolled to a win vs. Tiverton. For the Tigers, Caleb Purcell scored 16 and Jase Kelly added 14 in the loss.

Westerly 64, East Lyme (CT) 44

Brayden Antoch led all scorers with 21 points and 8 rebounds in this nonleague matchup, Caleb Williams had 13 points and 8 boards, and Farris Nader pulled down 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who are now 5-0. For East Lyme, Javy Mangual scored 16 points in the loss.

🏀GIRLS BASKETBALL - Division I

Barrington 69, Classical 32 

The Eagles' balanced scoring attack was led by Keira Martin and Genesis Castro with 16 points each, Ella Martin added 14 points, and Lauren Kilpatrick scored 8 in the win. Katherine Escobar paced the Purple with 11 points. The Eagles improve to 4-1 with the win while Classical falls to 0-1.

🏀GIRLS BASKETBALL - Division II

East Greenwich 50, Pilgrim 35

The Avengers put together their best defensive half of the season, holding the Patriots to just 7 points in the first half. Division II EG also combined to make six 3-pointers on the night. Evelyn David led the way with 14 points, Rowan Carney added 9, as did Madeline Asay for EG in the win. For Division III Pilgrim, Maddison Belangerscored a team-high 14 points in the loss. 

🏀GIRLS BASKETBALL - Division III

Woonsocket 53, Burrillville 47

The Villa Novans got off to a slow start but scored 20 points in the second quarter which helped separate themselves from the Broncos and held on for the win. Skyla Caro scored a team-high 14 points followed by Akira Moise with 11 and captain Jelysa Moise chipped in with 9.

Marron Nerney, Ponaganset girls basketball

🏀GIRLS BASKETBALL - Nonleague

Ponaganset 60, Woodstock (CT) Academy 54

Three players reached double digits in scoring helping Ponaganset slip past Woodstock in nonleague play. Marron Nerney led the way with 16, Javiana Stec followed with 13 and Maci Lafontaine added scored 10. Woodstock also had three players in double figures in scoring. Isabel D'Alleva Bochane scored 14 points and Elise Coyle and Kaylee Saucier added 13 each in the loss.
