Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison says Liverpool played well against Tottenham but "looked like a team with little confidence who had forgotten how to win football matches" in the closing stages. The Reds conceded in the 83rd minute but managed to hold on against nine-man Spurs to be unbeaten in their last six games. "It was a huge win because they looked nervy at the back," said Morrison on BBC Radio 5 Live's Football Daily podcast.
"That was Virgil van Dijk too for the Richarlison goal.
"He panicked, didn't clear the ball and totally miss-kicked it. That's unusual for him as he is usually so cool, calm and collected.
"It was pleasing to see Alexander Isak get a goal for them but then not so pleasing when he had to go off. It looks like a serious injury so that will be very frustrating for Arne Slot and for the player himself because it has been stop-start for him since joining.
"The way Isak was playing was like when he was at Newcastle. He was sharp and looked good.
"Thankfully, Liverpool made a brilliant signing in Hugo Ekitike because he has been outstanding. He wasn't meant to be the regular number nine but it is his shirt to lose now."
