TreVeyon Henderson was injured on an awkward tackle in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Ravens.
The Patriots rookie was spun down backwards by Baltimore safety Alohi Gilman and appeared to slam his head hard on the field. Henderson initially got to his feet, but then went back down and was attended to by team trainers. The running back went to the locker room and the Patriots eventually ruled him out for the night with a head injury.
After a slow start to the season, Henderson came on strong down the stretch, and was the odds-on favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year at the time of his injury. In last week’s loss to the Bills, Henderson ran for 148 yards on 14 carries and scored a pair of highlight-reel touchdowns.
Baltimore did a good job bottling the explosive back up early in Sunday’s game, as Henderson picked up three yards on his first five carries. The rookie also had one catch for nine yards.
