Newark football lineman take runner-up in state event

The Newark football team’s linemen were near the top of their class on July 19.

Passing scrimmages take center stage for high school football teams early in the summer, but the Newark linemen made sure they were not left out July 19.

Newark took Division I/II runner-up during the state lineman challenge run by the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association.

Participating Wildcats were Israel Fraizer, Dakota Howard, Jakoby Workman, Cam Davis, Kyle Green, Chase Parkinson, Josh Moody, Force Byrnes, J.T. Abbott and Trent Carter. Coaches are John Poulnott and Nate Cooksey.
