Manchester United are looking to take advantage of Javi Guerra’s stalled contract talks with Valencia.
Cristhian Mosquera and Guerra were two of Valencia’s brightest players last campaign. Accordingly, Los Ches entered the summer transfer window aiming to renew the contracts of both academy products.
However, Mosquera turned down their proposal in favour of a move to Arsenal earlier this summer. Now, the La Liga outfit are facing a similar predicament with Guerra.
Manchester United target Javi Guerra rejects Valencia contract
According to Marca, the 22-year-old has decided to reject Valencia’s renewal offer, which was put on the table just under a week ago.
It is understood that the midfielder and his camp feel that the La Liga outfit’s proposal “doesn’t fit their needs” and they expect “something better”.
The stalemate has opened the door to United, who are keeping an eye on the situation.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United have reached a “verbal agreement” with Guerra.
It is now claimed that they are working “behind the scenes” to bring him to the Premier League.
Valencia are open to listening to offers for the Spain U21 international, hoping to fetch around €27 million. United, meanwhile, are willing to spend €25m on the promising midfielder.

Journalist Sébastien Vidal adds that United are ready to “finalize” the Spaniard’s signing “quickly”. Despite interest from elsewhere, the Valencia talent wants to move to Old Trafford.
Great market opportunity for Manchester United
Considering the price tag, Guerra has the potential to be a real coup for United.
The Valencia star is a well-rounded midfielder, who is very aggressive and powerful out of possession and possesses impressive composure on the ball.
In Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte, Ruben Amorim has midfielders capable of doing the dirty work. However, a technically proficient midfielder like Guerra could help the side dictate the tempo of the game more frequently.
