So as we set our expectations, we should probably get ready to lower them for the game tonight. Looking over their schedule it looks like 30.5 points might be enough in this game but there is a little bit of history between these two teams and that happened in 2023 when Nebraska was 10-2 and North Dakota is 8-5.
That expected to be an easy win for the Huskers that night as well but it was a fight until the end. In fact, North Dakota lead the Huskers by 10 at halftime of that game before the Huskers ended up winning by eight. So they should be coming in with a sense of confidence.
Now it will be up to Nebraska if they want to show up and more importantly if they are just planning on shooting North Dakota out of the gym or if they will let North Dakota linger until the late parts of the second half.
A 30 point margin seems like it could be a bit much in a game that Nebraska might have to manufacture it’s own energy. That said, I expect Nebraska to win easily and start the season 12-0.

The Huskers come off finals week with an 11-0 record after acing its final Big Ten December test with an 83-80 win over No. 13 Illinois on Dec. 13. Pryce Sandfort scored a career-high 32 points, including 26 in the first half, to lead four Huskers in double figures, while Jamarques Lawrence’s 3-pointer with 0.2 seconds remaining gave the Huskers just its second win in Champaign since joining the Big Ten in 2011-12. The Huskers shot 52 percent from the field and had 20 assists to just six turnovers in the win.
The Huskers, whose 11-0 start is the best in program history, come into the contest averaging 83.8 ppg which is NU’s highest total after 11 games since the 1995-96 season. One of the reasons for the Huskers’ success is an offense which ranks sixth nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.92-to-1) and 21st in assists per game (18.8). Lawrence (4.1), Sam Hoiberg (4.0) and Rienk Mast (3.0) all average at least three assists per game.
North Dakota comes to Lincoln following a thrilling 90-88 win over Winthrop Thursday night in Grand Forks. In that game, Eli King scored a game-high 25 points, including a game-winning 3-pointer with 0.5 seconds remaining. UND hit eight of its 13 3-pointers in the second half to overcome a 47-38 halftime deficit.
Following Sunday’s game, the Huskers will close non-conference action with New Hampshire on Dec. 30 before resuming Big Ten play with No. 9 Michigan State on Jan. 2.
