London City Lionesses have announced the shock departure of head coach Jocelyn Prêcheur.
The Pride revealed the news via a post on their official club website just a short time ago.
The 43-year-old was appointed London City Lionesses head coach back in summer 2024. He signed a three-year deal at the Copperjax Community Stadium. Prêcheur guided London City Lionesses to the Barclays WSL2 title last term along with a long-awaited promotion to the English top flight. The Pride have eased into life in the Barclays Women’s Super League this season and go into the winter break in the impressive position of sixth in the table.
Despite enjoying an excellent season so far, London City Lionesses have opted for a managerial change. The club say that the decision has been made in an effort to ‘begin a new cycle and pursue a different strategic direction for the next phase of its development’.
London City Lionesses will now begin the process of recruiting the right person to lead the team forward from their current position. The Pride have three weeks before they return to competitive action following the winter break. The first team squad are set to return to training after the New Year celebrations.
