The Josh Giddey contract saga has continued, with the Australian point guard still yet to ink his next NBA deal.
Giddey, who is currently a restricted free agent, was expected to be one of the first names off the board this off-season, but Chicago have been surprisingly reluctant to meet his asking price, leading to a stalemate.
But despite their apparent hesitancy to pay the 22-year-old, the Bulls are reportedly eager to keep him in the Windy City for the foreseeable future.

While contract talks are ongoing between Giddey and the team, Sportrac's Keith Smith reported from Summer League that he remains a key part of their future plans.
"We want to get a deal done with Josh," said a Bulls front office executive, according to Smith.
"He’s as important of a player as we have. We see him as a foundational player for us.
"I hope we can find a deal that makes sense for us and him and that we’ll be together for a long time."
Giddey was reportedly in search of a contract of US$30 million per season, a number that many thought the Bulls would match, but they are yet to reach a deal, with Clutchpoints' Brett Seigel reporting that Chicago "have not offered more than a four-year contract in the $20 million per year range."
His restricted free agency status means he is open to field offers from any team, but the Bulls have the opportunity to match, but no such deals have materialised.
