Morgan Sanson (31) is playing a less central role at OGC Nice. Excellent during his loan spell, he then missed most of last season due to an injury. Le Gym then recruited in midfield in the summer, bringing in Charles Vanhoutte and Salis Abdul Samed. Whilst the latter is featuring sparingly, the former is now a regular starter alongside Hicham Boudaoui.

It has meant that Sanson has started only three games in Ligue 1 this season, although he has started four games in the UEFA Europa League. L’Équipe now understands that a departure for the former Aston Villa midfielder is a possibility this January.

He is one of several players who could depart a Nice side in crisis. Terem Moffi, Jérémie Boga, and Jonathan Clauss are also candidates for exits. The former two were the victims of violence during the altercation with fans back in November, whilst the latter wanted to leave in the summer, amid interest from Bayer Leverkusen.
