On Thursday evening, it was reported by several sources that Finland’s Oscar Hemming is expected to join the roster at Boston College. Hemming is a 17-year old that most recently played in the BCHL and has been projected to be a first round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. On Finland’s national U18 team, he had 4 goals and 5 assists in 9 games played.
The 6’4” forward would add depth to an offense that is already top-20 in the nation, but could use an extra bump to compete at the national level. They’ve been missing a handful of their top-6 forwards, including Andre Gasseau and Oskar Jellvik, so a healthy Hemming could help to provide another consistent scoring presence. Plus, if those guys come back, then Hemming’s presence as a top talent on the third line would make BC’s scoring depth extremely strong and difficult to deal with for most opposing defenses.
Welcome to the Heights, Oscar!
