The Blue Hens captured their first bowl win in their first FBS season.
The Delaware Blue Hens, in their first year in the FBS, won the 2025 68 Ventures Bowl with a dramatic 20-13 victory over the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns.
The Blue Hens got on the board early in this one as Jo Silver scampered 61 yards to the end zone to take a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, both teams traded field goals as both the Cajuns and Blue Hens kept things close in Mobile. At the half, Delaware had a 10-3 lead.
Halfway through the third quarter, Delaware had scored 10 unanswered points to make it 20-3 and just about put Louisiana out of the game.
Or so we thought.
Lunch Winfield got things going offensively for the Cajuns in the fourth quarter, leading Louisiana to ten straight points to make it 20-13. Late in the game, Winfield played through injury to try and complete the comeback, but a dropped pass in the endzone as time expired gave the Blue Hens their first career bowl win.
Nick Minicucci went 19/30 for 176 yards and a touchdown. Jo Silver led the offense with 116 rushing yards on 14 carries.
