Jones has been floated as an option for the Diamondbacks star.
Spencer Jones has heard the rumors.
But the New York Yankees' 6-foot-7 slugging prospect knows one thing:
“I want to play in New York and be a part of this organization," Jones told The Athletic's Chris Kirschner.
Whether Jones makes it to August in the Yankees' organization remains to be seen, though.
He's been a popular name floated as a potential return for New York to trade for Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez.
Suarez has 36 big league homers this season and would fill an immediate need. To get him, the Yankees will have to give up something good.

Is Jones the answer?
He's on fire since joining Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. In 16 games, he has 10 homers, and he's batting .426.
Jones has struck out a lot in his minor league career, but he clearly has prodigious power.
Yankees fans will always want to dream that the former first-round pick from Vanderbilt can grow into a hitter like Aaron Judge. Clearly, that's an almost impossible bar to reach.
But it's probably safe to say the Yankees probably wouldn't mind waiting to find out, if they can get a deal done without Jones.
