Jarren Duran has been mentioned in trade rumors all season. He was an All-Star last season, but he has seen a decline this year, and may be the odd man out in the Red Sox's outfield. Roman Anthony is not going to be traded. Ceddanne Rafaela has already signed an extension, and Wilyer Abreu is younger with more club control than Duran.
The San Diego Padres are a team in need of an outfielder, and they could become a trade partner for Duran. FanSided's Chris Landers proposed this trade that would send Duran to the Padres:
- Red Sox receive: RHP Jeremiah Estrada, LHP Boston Bateman (Padres' No. 5 prospect) and 1B Romeo Sanabria (Padres' No. 16 prospect)
- Padres receive: OF Jarren Duran
"Estrada fills Boston's biggest immediate need, a flame-throwing righty to pair with Aroldis Chapman to help Alex Cora navigate late-game situations with more confidence," wrote Landers. "Beyond the nominative determinism, Bateman would offer another arm for the team's future without Walker Buehler and potentially Lucas Giolito, while Sanabria is close to the Majors and would be some insurance for Triston Casas."

Duran has multiple years of club control, so he will not be cheap in any trade. However, finding a partner will depend on which teams can provide the Red Sox with talent that can help them now and in the future. Even with Duran's numbers being down from last year, he would still be an upgrade for many teams.
