Fussball Transfers reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach winger Franck Honorat is set to extend his contract at the club.

The Frenchman has signed a one-year extension at Borussia Park, taking his contract from 2028 until 2029. In a quiet and underwhelming summer, it’s a piece of positive news for die Fohlen that one of their creative outlets will stay at the club.

In recent weeks, Honorat has been attracting interest from several clubs, including Leeds United and Freiburg.

So far, most of Gladbach’s business in this window has been outgoings, with Alassane Plea the major departure so far, joining PSV Eindhoven. Ko Itakura could be next to follow the Frenchman across the border with PSV and Ajax reportedly interested. While striker Tomas Cvancara is set to move to Turkey on a season-long loan.

When it comes to incomings, only Haris Tabakovic has joined die Fohlen on loan, acting as a backup for the currently injured Tim Kleindienst.
