The Colorado Buffaloes head coach said has not “all the way recovered” from a mysterious illness that has left him sidelined over past months, away from his football team in Boulder.

“You know I’m still going through something,” Sanders told his daughter Shelomi and son Deion Jr. in a video posted on Sunday, July 20.

In the clip, the Hall of Fame football player, 57, gingerly joins his daughter in an ice bath outside their property in Texas.

“I’m getting better, though, right?” Sanders asked Shelomi.

The retired NFL star has not offered many details about his current health struggles since he first shared that he was suffering from an unspecified medical issue in June.

Sanders has faced blood clot issues related to his legs and feet, has been resting as recruits arrived earlier this summer — but those around him have indicated that he’s on the mend.

“We headed back to Colorado next week," Deion Jr., 31, told podcaster Phillip Dukes last week. "It's a blessing. It's been a long journey, a long road and soon everybody will know the reason I haven't left this house this summer. ... Everyone will know in the next few weeks or so."

The elder Sanders appeared at Big 12 Media Days earlier this month in Frisco, Texas where he declined to elaborate on his health.

“I’m really not gon' tell you much. You know that,” Sanders said to a reporter, as laughter was heard off-camera in footage shared by ESPN.  “I’m not here to talk about my health. I’m here to talk about my team.”

Earlier this summer, Sanders said he had lost about 14 lbs. over recent months, telling former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel on his podcast “what I’m dealing with right now is at a whole ‘nother level.”

In 2023, the former Dallas Cowboys cornerback underwent surgery to treat blood clots in both of his legs. Two years prior, he had his left big toe and second toe amputated due to blood clots he developed after surgery.
