The Athletic reports that Liverpool have reached a full agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt for Hugo Ekitiké.
The deal for the Frenchman will be around £69m with potential add-ons, which could see the deal rise to £79m. It was reported last week that Ekitiké will sign a six-year contract at Liverpool.
Once the striker has completed his medical, he will then travel to Hong Kong to join up with the squad who arrived earlier today, and will play a friendly against AC Milan later this week before travelling to Japan.
Newcastle had also shown an interest in Ekitiké, but ultimately pulled out of the deal and looked elsewhere as they look to improve their striker options.
Ekitiké will leave Frankfurt after only 18 months at the club. Ekitiké joined in January 2024 for €16.5m from PSG. After an initially slow period at Deutsche Bank Park, the Frenchman came into his own last season, initially alongside Omar Marmoush, before leading the Frankfurt line by himself, ending the season with 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 games.
