Marshall Manning, son of former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, is making waves with a school choice that has fans talking.
The rising quarterback prospect is set to enroll as an eighth-grader at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a program with a proud football tradition and two state championships to its name. Marshall had previously attended Cherry Creek in Colorado and was widely expected to one day suit up for the Bruins once he reached high school.
Now part of the Class of 2030, Marshall is expected to enter his freshman season in 2026. Though he’s still early in his development, the spotlight is already finding him, especially after his standout moment during last year’s NFL Pro Bowl Weekend.
While most eyes were on the pros, Marshall grabbed headlines by tossing warm-up passes to NFL stars, including a memorable fade route to Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase. Baylor School head coach Erik Kimrey declined to comment specifically on younger players, preferring to wait until they’re further along in their development. Still, the buzz surrounding Marshall’s arrival is hard to miss.
The Red Raiders went 12-1 last season, ultimately falling in the TSSAA Division II, Class AAA state title game to McCallie School. Adding a quarterback prospect like Marshall into the pipeline only builds anticipation for what’s ahead.
Head of School at Baylor, Chris Angel, didn't confirm individual names but shared optimism about the incoming class: "We are welcoming an exceptional group of new students who will be joining a vibrant and dynamic student body."
Though it's far too soon to project Marshall Manning's football future, he’s already showing flashes of promise and poise. His move to Baylor marks another early chapter in what could be a compelling football journey and one many will be eager to follow.
