Is Nick Saban returning to coaching?

When legendary Alabama head coach Nick Saban retired from coaching following the 2023 season, it was a jarring decision that shook the landscape of college football.
Following his retirement, over 400 coaches across college football, high school and the NFL changed jobs as a result. While it seemed like a surprising decision by Saban, the seven-time champion head coach had been laying the groundwork with his complaints over the direction the sport was going in because of the transfer portal and NIL.
He has since transitioned into an analyst role for ESPN's "College GameDay," which of course he nailed, winning an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Personality/Emerging On-Air Talent.
While Saban appears to be content with his new life, his former quarterback, Greg McElroy, stirred the pot recently, sharing that he had been told Saban could return to coaching. This, of course, shook the college football world, with many debating what job he'd return for.
Although McElroy later confirmed he doesn't see it happening, the damage has already been done.
Not to mention, Saban's daughter, Kristen, also created some speculation with a recent Instagram Story.
She shared a video from the SEC Network that showed her father and his team walking out of the tunnel before a game. While the initial post highlighted Alabama's walk-out, Saban's caption on the post may raise some eyebrows.
"damn, I miss this," wrote Kristen Saban.
This could simply be her reminiscing about what was a major chunk of her life, or it could be playing into the latest noise surrounding her father.
Regardless, all eyes are on the former LSU and Alabama coach to see if he truly does want to make a comeback.
