The All-Star festivities may be over, but the World Series predictions never end.

After the conclusion of the Midsummer Classic, the Fox Sports crew picked their World Series winners and runners-up. Alex Rodriguez took the New York Yankees over the Los Angeles Dodgers in a rematch from last season.

Aside from his Yankees’ bias, having called the Bronx home for 12 seasons (13, if you include the PED suspension year), Rodriguez cited a preference for franchises with extensive resources and a willingness to make a bold move at the trade deadline.

Neither of those should be an issue for the Dodgers.

"I have no idea who's going to go to the World Series, and that's a good thing," Rodriguez said. "What I will say is this: whatever GM—there's going to be a competition of the best front office that does the most bold moves at the trade deadline. And I'm going to go with the most resources: Yankees and Dodgers. All the eyes will be on Brian Cashman to make the move to finally get over the LA Dodgers."

Whether Los Angeles wants to grab an outfielder, another starting pitcher, or even a reliever or two, it has the prospects and cash to pull off any conceivable (or inconceivable for that matter) deal.

Ultimately, the only thing that should hinder the Dodgers’ chances of repeating as champions is health. Among the marquee names, Blake Snell is progressing through his rehab starts, Roki Sasaki could be back sometime in late August, and Max Muncy is on the right track.

However, there are underlying effects to all these injuries. The biggest one is that while Los Angeles is still thriving without its full squad (58-39, 5.5-game lead in the NL West), it is a dangerous line to teeter for an entire season.

The Dodgers do not need to make the biggest and boldest moves at the deadline, but adding someone as simple as a back-end starter, a long reliever, or an extra utility man could be the difference between a good season and a great one.
