Bad Caitlin Clark news.
Caitlin Clark Sidelined Yet Again With Groin Injury originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
In what has been one of the biggest storylines of the WNBA season, Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark has been plagued with injuries.
After playing in all 139 career games at Iowa and all 40 games during her Rookie of the Year season in 2024, Clark has already missed 10 games in the infancy of the 2025 season. She missed five games earlier in the year with a left quad injury, before missing an additional five with a left groin injury.
During the Fever's 85-77 win over the Connecticut Sun, Clark came up holding her right groin with just 39.6 seconds remaining in the game. With the Fever set to take on the New York Liberty on Wednesday, Clark was listed as questionable before officially being ruled out hours before the bout, as confirmed by Chole Peterson of the IndyStar.
"Can confirm Caitlin Clark has been downgraded to out for tonight’s game against the Liberty," wrote Peterson.
In addition to Clark not attending Wednesday evening's game, Peterson also revealed that her latest injury could impact her participation in the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday.
Without the two-time WNBA All-Star, the Fever have put together a 5-5 record on the year. They were also riding a three-game win streak heading into Wednesday, but could have some troubles extending it without Clark.
The Fever's game against the Liberty is set to tip at 7:30 p.m. ET and will air on CBSSN.
