Steven Falk of the Asbury Park Press since 2007 & former colleague Joe Zedalis are the 2 media members in this year's Shore football Hall inductees.
Steven Falk, who's been covering local sports for the Asbury Park Press since 2007, and former colleague Joe Zedalis are the two media members honored in this year's Shore Football Coaches Foundation class of Hall of Fame inductees, it was announced at the All-Shore Gridiron Classic game Wednesday night, July 16.
Also honored:
- Cory Davies, who's been head coach at Freehold Township since 2015 following three years as a Lacey assistant coach and 21 years as Howell's head coach
- Bob Biasi, who coached Long Branch's 1991 team to a 10-1 record and a division title and also an assistant at Long Branch, Ocean and Shore
- Rumson-Fair Haven assistant coach Steve Roberts, a former long-time assistant under Steve Antonucci at Middletown South.
Falk, a lifetime Shore resident, covers prep sports and college wrestling and has been with the Asbury Park Press since 2007. Prior to coming to the Press, he was with the Ocean County Observer, Toms River, from 1989-2007 and with the Daily Register, Shrewsbury, from 1986-89.
In March, Falk was honored at the NJSIAA Individual Wrestling Championships for his contributions to the sport with the statewide athletics association’s John Vogeding Memorial Award.
Zedalis over a long career has been with the Lakewood Daily Times, Observer, Times of Trenton and the Asbury Park Press before he moved to NJ Advance Media 11 years ago. He is also a member of high school wrestling's Region 6 Hall of Fame.
