TSN’s Allan Perkins believes that Hunter Gaddis could be a target for the Toronto Blue Jays
The Cleveland Guardians could look a lot different come Aug. 1. At 46-49, and well out of the American League playoff picture, it’s possible that the team could sell off some of their key assets at the trade deadline.
One player that has been mentioned as a possible trade candidate, is relief pitcher Hunter Gaddis. Allan Perkins of TSN has recently linked Gaddis to the Toronto Blue Jays.
“Counting the postseason last year, Gaddis has appeared in 127 games since the start of 2024,” Perkins wrote. “ He’s a bullpen workhorse who doesn’t give up a ton of hard contact and isn’t fully arbitration eligible until 2027. Interested in years of control, anyone?”
Gaddis has been one of the Guardians top-end relievers for the last couple of seasons. Last season, Gaddis pitched to a 1.57 ERA in 74.2 innings pitched. He hasn’t been as sharp this season, pitching to a 3.69 ERA in 39.0 innings of work, but could still be a positive addition for a team in need of high-leverage relief pitching.
The Guardians have also been linked to potential trades involving closer Emmanuel Clase. In the midst of a disappointing season, the back-end of the Guardians’ bullpen could look significantly different in the next couple of weeks.
