The 2025 ESPY Awards honored the best of the best in sports on Wednesday in Los Angeles with the 33rd edition of ESPN’s annual awards show.
Hosted by Shane Gillis at the Dolby Theatre, Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley led the nominations with three categories, followed by Los Angeles Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani, NFL MVP Josh Allen, Gilgeous-Alexander of the newly crowned NBA champs Oklahoma City, U.S. Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, and the WNBA’s Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson, each with two nods.
Also honored were former WNBA player Diana Taurasi and former USWNT player Alex Morgan with the prestigious Icon Award, as well as former NBA player Oscar Robertson with the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage, Penn State University women’s volleyball head coach Katie Schumacher-Cawley with the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance, and Sloane Stephens with the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award.
Greater Los Angeles first responders and former athletes David Walters and Erin Regan were presented with the Pat Tillman Award for Service. Additionally, the Sports Humanitarian Awards acknowledged honorees at this year’s show, including the recipient of the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award and the Billie Jean King Youth Leadership Award.
After airing live Wednesday on ABC and ESPN+, the 2025 ESPYS will be available to stream the next day on Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+.
