Mariners predicted to trade for 2 sluggers before deadline to bolster lineup with home run pop

Seattle could use the help.

The Seattle Mariners can't afford to waste this magical Cal Raleigh season.

They're still in the playoff hunt, but there's work to be done before the MLB trade deadline.

The Talkin' Baseball crew sees two sluggers in Seattle's possible future.

They predict that the Mariners could end up with Braves DH Marcell Ozuna and Diamondbacks first baseman Josh Naylor.

Both would be strong acquisitions and fill spots of need in the lineup.

Ozuna seems likely to be moved, as he's on an expiring contract and Atlanta is out of the race.

Naylor is in much the same boat with Arizona.

The big lefty Naylor is a proven clutch performer in the postseason who wears his emotions on his sleeve.

Putting one or both of these guys in the lineup around Raleigh, Randy Arozarena and Julio Rodriguez would be an incredible boost.

Seattle has the most top-100 prospects in baseball according to MLB Pipeline, so if they're going for this, they've got the ammo to get deals done.
