Fever catch Boston off guard.
Indiana Fever's Sweet Gesture Surprises Aliyah Boston originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
With a 12-10 record and five wins in their last seven outings, the Indiana Fever sit third in the WNBA’s Eastern Conference ahead of Wednesday night’s showdown against the New York Liberty at Barclays Center.
The Fever’s balanced attack has averaged 84.5 points per game, third-best in the league, while holding opponents to 79.5 points, good for seventh defensively. Indiana’s frontcourt anchor, Aliyah Boston, has been a key factor in that turnaround and the team’s momentum is now carrying into New York.
Moments before the team bus pulled away for the Fever's game in Brooklyn, all of Boston's teammates climbed aboard wearing black T-shirts with Aliyah Boston’s new WSLAM magazine cover art.
The spontaneous show of support ended with Boston herself saying, "It was a nice surprise. I feel great, they’re awesome."

Since turning pro, Boston was unanimously voted the 2023 Rookie of the Year and named to the All-Rookie Team. She has been selected to three consecutive WNBA All-Star Games (2023-25), joining her teammates Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell for this year's showcase in Indianapolis.
This season, Boston is averaging 16.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 blocks per game while leading the league in field-goal percentage at 57.7%, nearly two percentage points ahead of the next best shooter, her teammate Natasha Howard.
On Wednesday, Boston and her teammates will face the Liberty, who sit atop the Eastern Conference with a record of 14-6, looking to extend their surge and carry the same spirit into All-Star weekend back home.
A win for Indiana would tie them with the Atlanta Dream for second place in the East and put them just one game behind New York.
