Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2012 inductee Reggie Miller showed his appreciation for a WNBA All-Star.
Reggie Miller, 59, attended the Los Angeles Sparks and Washington Mystics game on Tuesday alongside his sister Cheryl Miller, who played for the USC Trojans from 1982-86. She also coached and was the general manager of the Phoenix Mercury from 1997-2000.
On Wednesday, Reggie Miller posted a video on his Instagram story of his sister speaking to Sparks guard Kelsey Plum on the sideline before interacting with multiple other Sparks players.
“Love how the current greats gravitate to the GREATEST @cmill31,” Reggie Miller wrote.
The reaction comes as the Miller siblings have been notable supporters of the WNBA and the NBA because of their connection to the sport.
Plum scored 20 points, dished out six assists and snagged four rebounds within 34 minutes of playing time in the Sparks 99-80 win. The 30-year-old All-Star is averaging 20.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game in her first season with Los Angeles.
She is headed to her fourth All-Star game since being drafted in 2017. Meanwhile, the Sparks aren’t playing another game until after the All-Star break, a rematch against the Mystics on Tuesday at CareFirst Arena in Washington.
The Sparks are 8-14 and in sixth place in the Western Conference, ahead of only the Dallas Wings (6-16), at the halfway point of the season. They will likely need to flip that record around in the second half to have a shot at their first playoff berth since 2020.
