The Phoenix Suns are finally free of Bradley Beal. It was reported today that Beal will complete his buyout from the franchise and intends to join the Los Angeles Clippers upon finishing that process.

Shams Charania noted that the new contract with the Clippers will be for two-years, $11 million. It will also include a player option for the second year of the deal.

Suns fans will be far more interested with the financial flexibility they have regained after watching Beal move on to his next team. Charania reported the details on that as well.

Charania wrote, "Beal is giving back $13.9 million out of the $110 million on the final two years of his contract to complete the buyout with the Suns, who will likely waive-and-stretch the remaining salary over five years, sources said."

The NBA insider added, "It also gives the Suns increased team-building flexibility by taking them out of the first and second apron, providing access to more tradable draft picks in the future, and opening up part of the midlevel exception."

Where do the Suns go from here? There are still plenty of holes on the roster and a handful of intriguing names on the free agent market.

One thing is abundantly clear though. Sun insider John Gambadoro said plainly that Phoenix will not be pursuing one of the former All-Stars that is still available in free agency.

Gambadoro posted on Twitter/X, "For the many that are asking - no the Suns do not have interest in Ben Simmons."

Simmons averaged 5.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game in the 2024-25 season. His campaign was split between the Brooklyn Nets and Clippers.

The gaping vacancy that will be staring everyone in the face is at point guard for Phoenix. According to Gambadoro, it will not be filled by a 6-foot-10-inch one.
