Golden State Warriors Will 'Immediately' Strike Many Deals After One Decision is Made

The Golden State Warriors are reportedly expected to "immediately" strike many deals after they make one key decision this summer.

The Golden State Warriors entered the NBA offseason looking to upgrade their roster around their star trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green to chase another championship next season.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, they have failed to make any moves thus far this offseason outside of the NBA draft as they have missed out on multiple free agent targets.

Of course, the Warriors are still awaiting a decision by restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga, which has been a major factor in why Golden State has been quiet this offseason.

It is expected that Kuminga will be traded at some point, either via a sign-and-trade during free agency or before next season’s trade deadline if he stays with the Warriors.

Either way, Kuminga’s decision looms large for the Warriors and ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel recently reported that Golden State will immediately finalize other deals once Kuminga makes his decision.

“Kuminga has been a big hold up as well. Once he signs, Warriors will immediately get a few other deals done,” Siegel posted on X.

For Kuminga, he is likely to be on his way out of Golden State eventually due to him falling out of Steve Kerr’s rotation last season after they acquired Butler from the Heat at the trade deadline.

Due to this, the 22-year-old forward enters next season with his role in the rotation unknown and after his comments earlier this offseason saying that he wants to be a star in the NBA, staying in Golden State does not make a ton of sense.

It also does not make a ton of sense for the Warriors to hold onto him if they are not going to play him as they could instead ship him away in the trade to add another player to their rotation.

Either way, it appears as though Kuminga’s time with the Warriors is nearing an end and once he makes his decision, expect Golden State to be busy making other deals to upgrade their roster.
