The Chicago Sky dropped to 7-14 during the 2025 WNBA season after Monday evening's defeat at the hands of the 19-4 Minnesota Lynx. They now sit in 11th place in the league standings, 3.0 games out of the playoff picture near the halfway point.
Two-time All-Star forward Angel Reese led the way once again with a 22-point, 10-rebound, three-assist performance. This marked her ninth straight double-double, as well as her 15th of the season.
Chicago is back in action on Wednesday morning against the 12-9 Atlanta Dream, which is a pivotal matchup for the Sky. Unfortunately, star forward Angel Reese will be out with a leg injury.
While the extent of her injury was not initially understood, this is the Sky's final game before the All-Star Break, so Reese will not suit up again for Chicago until at least July 22. Head coach Tyler Marsh did confirm, however, that her absence was precautionary.
With Reese not available to play against Atlanta, however, Marsh had to make a change to the starting lineup. Reese had started all 21 games for the Sky prior to Wednesday, but Elizabeth Williams will start in her place against the Dream. Moriah Jefferson will replace Ariel Atkins.
"Lineup alert: Sky will start Jefferson, Banham, Onyenwere, Williams, Cardoso on Wednesday," Underdog WNBA wrote.

This will be Chicago's eighth different starting lineup configuration during the 2025 WNBA season.
Reese is averaging career-bests with 14.0 points and 3.8 assists per contest. Her 12.6 rebounds per game also lead the WNBA for the second consecutive season.
The Sky's game against the Dream will tip off at noon ET on Wednesday at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. Their first contest after the All-Star Break will be on July 22 against the Lynx on the road.
